Event Terms and Conditions
For events hosted by The Design Cabin Community C.I.C
Welcome to The Design Cabin Community C.I.C! These Terms & Conditions help make sure our events run safely, fairly, and smoothly for everyone.
By booking a ticket or registering for one of our events, workshops, or community sessions, you agree to these terms.
🏡 1. About Us
The Design Cabin Community C.I.C is a community interest company that runs creative markets, performances, workshops, and events to support local makers, performers, and residents.
When we say “we”, “us” or “our”, we mean The Design Cabin Community C.I.C.
When we say “you” or “your”, we mean anyone attending or registering for one of our events.
🎟️ 2. Tickets & Registration
- You’ll need a valid ticket or confirmed registration to attend most of our events.
- Tickets are only available through our official channels. Our official ticket sale website is https://tdc.community
- We can’t guarantee tickets purchased from third-party resellers will be valid.
- Proof of purchase or ID may be required on entry.
- E-tickets are sent via email — if you don’t receive yours within 5 days, please get in touch.
- Tickets are non-transferable unless agreed by us in writing.
📅 3. Event Changes & Cancellations
Sometimes we have to make changes due to weather, safety, or other unforeseen reasons.
- If we reschedule, your ticket will be valid for the new date.
- If we cancel and can’t reschedule, you’ll receive a refund for the ticket price (excluding booking fees).
- We’ll always try to notify you as soon as possible about any changes.
🧶 4. Ticketed Events, Workshops & Community Sessions
🎪 Ticketed Public Events
These include our markets, performances, film screenings, and other paid-entry events.
- Everyone attending must hold a valid ticket.
- Age restrictions (if any) will be clearly shown when booking.
- Under 16s must be accompanied by a responsible adult unless otherwise stated.
🪡 Workshops & Community Sessions
These are often free, donation-based, or subsidised.
- Spaces are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Please arrive on time and let us know if you can’t attend — no-shows may affect your ability to book future free sessions.
- If we cancel or reschedule, we’ll contact you directly.
- Any paid workshop fees are non-refundable unless the session is cancelled by us.
💚 5. Refunds & Pay It Forward Scheme
Refunds
- Refunds are only available if an event is cancelled (and not rescheduled) or if you can’t attend a new date.
- We can’t offer refunds for non-attendance or minor changes to the programme.
🌱 Pay It Forward
Cancelled or refunded tickets are added to our Pay It Forward scheme — a community initiative offering free or subsidised tickets to people who might not otherwise be able to attend.
By requesting a refund, you agree that your ticket may be reallocated through this scheme at our discretion.
It’s one of the ways we make our events inclusive and community-focused.
🌈 6. Code of Conduct
We want everyone to feel welcome and safe at our events.
Please:
- Be kind, respectful, and considerate to others.
- Follow the guidance of our staff and volunteers.
- Avoid behaviour that could be considered abusive, discriminatory, or unsafe.
Anyone acting inappropriately may be asked to leave without refund.
♿ 7. Accessibility
We’re committed to making our events accessible for everyone.
If you need additional support, a companion ticket, or accessibility information, please contact us in advance at events@tdc.community.
🔒 8. Data & Privacy
Your personal information is used only to manage your booking, send updates, and (if you’ve opted in) share news about future events.
- We comply with UK GDPR.
- We never sell your data.
- You can opt out of marketing emails anytime.
📸 9. Photography & Media
We often take photos and videos at our events to help promote our work and celebrate our community.
By attending, you agree to being photographed or filmed in public areas.
If you’d prefer not to appear in any photos, please speak to a team member on the day — we’ll make sure you’re not included.
⚖️ 10. Liability
We always aim to deliver safe, enjoyable events, but:
- We can’t accept responsibility for personal belongings, travel, or accommodation costs.
- Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for injury or loss caused by our negligence.
📝 11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions occasionally. The latest version will always be available at:

By attending, you’re agreeing to the most up-to-date version.
⚖️ 12. Legal Information
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes will be handled in the courts of England and Wales.
13. Facilities, Heating & Refreshments
Please note that events held at The Freight House in Rochford are not in a centrally heated environment. Attendees are advised to dress appropriately for the conditions, especially during colder months. While we aim to make the space as comfortable as possible, The Design Cabin Community C.I.C cannot guarantee ambient temperatures and is not responsible for discomfort due to weather or heating conditions.
Hot drinks will be available onsite for visitors to purchase or enjoy during the event.
We also encourage attendees to take part in our blanket competition! Bring your coziest, most creative, or most colourful blanket — the best blanket at each event will win a free gift, awarded at The Design Cabin Community C.I.C’s discretion.

By taking part in our events, you’re helping to support local businesses, performers, and creative opportunities across our community.
Together, we’re building a stronger, fairer, and more connected local economy. 💚
